In late May, Fast Company Magazine published their annual list of brands that inspire consumers the most through their missions. This survey includes companies, nonprofits and social movements. This year’s annual publication of inspirational brands has Habitat for Humanity coming in at number five.
Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope. Habitat’s mission seeks to put God’s love into action on a daily basis. The nonprofit’s ultimate vision is to be a part of a world where everyone has a decent place to live.

This inspiring organization has loyal volunteers, supporters and donors in all areas of the world. Long-time Shoals Habitat for Humanity supporter, Pat Casteel, has been involved with Habitat for Humanity since the Shoals location was founded in the mid 80’s. Casteel has grown with the organization over the years by helping potential homeowners prepare for homeownership, assisting with hands-on work and much more.
Habitat for Humanity came behind St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Red Cross, Salvation Army and Goodwill in rankings.
